Two Pounds ("the App") is a calorie and protein tracking app. We respect your privacy and collect only the minimum data needed to provide the service.
We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data. We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not show ads.
When you describe a meal, that text is sent to DeepSeek, an AI service operated in China, which estimates the nutritional values. The request is made by our server, not by your device.
What is sent when you log a meal: the meal description you typed and your app language code (for example cs). Nothing else.
What is sent when you ask what to eat next: how many calories and grams of protein remain against your target for today, the current hour, your app language code and your country code (for example CZ). The country comes from your device region setting — the app never requests or uses GPS location.
In both cases your name, e-mail address, Apple ID, user ID and IP address are never included, so DeepSeek cannot link any of it back to you or to any account.
Legal basis: what you eat is health data (special category data under Article 9 GDPR). We process it on the basis of your explicit consent, which the app asks for before you can log your first meal. Meal analysis is the core function of the app, so it cannot be switched off separately — if you withdraw consent, the app can no longer be used.
Transfer outside the EU: China is not covered by an EU adequacy decision, so it does not guarantee the same level of data protection as the EU. Because no identifier of any kind accompanies the meal description, we consider the residual risk to you low. You are informed of this transfer and consent to it explicitly before any meal description is sent.
Please avoid typing names, addresses or other details about yourself or other people into the meal field. Only the food matters — anything else you type is sent along with it.
Withdrawing consent: you can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting your account from Settings in the app. This erases all of your data from our server and from your device. If we change the AI provider, we will ask for your consent again before the new provider is used.
Your data is stored on a secure server (encrypted in transit via TLS). Meal and weight data is also stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
Your data is retained as long as you have an active account. You can delete all your data at any time from Settings within the app.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
